As of February 1, 2025, the pension assets of Kazakhstanis in pension accounts in the UAPF amounted to about KZT 22.64 trillion. Over the past 12 months, pension assets have grown by over KZT 4.52 trillion (or 25%).

Pension savings formed through compulsory pension contributions (CPC) amounted to more than KZT 21.69 trillion tenge as of February 1, 2025, having increased by 23.8% over 12 months. The amount of pension savings through compulsory occupational pension contributions (COPC) is KZT 650.21 bln (an increase of 12.5% ​​over 12 months). The largest increase over the past 12 months (45.2%) was shown by savings on voluntary pension contributions (VPC), which amounted to about KZT 8 bln.

The volume of employer’s compulsory pension contributions (ECPC), received from January 1, 2024 to the pension accounts of contributors (recipients), amounted to about KZT 270.08 billion.

Receipts

Pension contributions to contributors' accounts for January 2025 amounted to about KZT 234.24 billion (an increase of 24.8% or KZT 46.56 billion compared to the previous year's figure).

More than KZT200.33 billion  were received on individual pension savings accounts (IPSA) for recording the CPC from the beginning of the year as of 01.02.2025 (compared to the same period last year, the volume of CPC increased by 13.9%), COPC - more than KZT 12.17 billion  (an increase of 17.9%), VPC - KZT 295.0 million  (an increase of 1.1%). The volume of contributions due to the ECPC for January 2025 amounted to KZT 21.44 billion.

Benefits and transfers

Outgoing flows in the form of payments for all types of contributions and transfers to insurance organizations from the UAPF in January 2025 amounted to about KZT128.86 billion, which is more than the volume of payments in the same period last year by 65.40 billion tenge or 103.1%.

More than KZT 78.09 billion are lump sum pension benefit payments (LSPBP) for improving housing conditions and medical treatment.

Payments in connection with reaching retirement age amounted to about KZT 16.78 billion, which is 8.2% higher than last year.

During this period, inheritance payments were also made - more than KZT 6.32 billion, payments in connection with leaving for permanent residence outside the Republic of Kazakhstan - more than KZT 3.29 billion, payments to persons with disabilities – KZT 272.60 million, funeral payments – KZT 989.23 million. An amount of about KZT 23.1 billion was transferred to insurance organizations.

The average monthly pension benefit payment from the UAPF in connection with reaching retirement age was 35,523 tenge, and the maximum monthly payment was 993,040 tenge.

 

IPSA number

The total number of pension accounts in the UAPF as of February 1, 2025 amounted to more than 17.24 million units. At the same time, the number of IPSA contributors (beneficiaries) in the UAPF as of February 1, 2025 was about 12.51 million units, of which: more than 11.15 million - for CPC, more than 718.56 thousand - for COPC, 441.96 thousand - for VPC.

The number of notional pension savings accounts in the UAPF, which take into account information about received ECPC in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, amounted to more than 4.73 million units.
